My wife (Jennifer) bought me this system and I babied it. I bought an intercooler for it, had it mounted so that all the vents could breath, never played it over 1 hour a day, never moved it around, placed it near an air conditioning vent, and kept it away from the T.V. so that I would keep the heat to a minimum inside the system. Less than a year later (with less than 100 hours of gameplay time) my XBox 360 is fried. I don't have the 3 Red Lights showing like you hear about. I have 1 red light showing. Guess what that means? Yep, warranty doesn't cover it. I have never been more disappointed in a product than this thing. I bought a steering wheel (which is also defective by the way, good job Microsoft), 5 games, an extra controller, an extra battery charger, and an intercooler for this thing. A complete waste of over $800.00. Now I just have to hope the store I bought it from will replace it so I can trade it in and get a PS3. Bottom line, parents, if you are buying your kid a video game system this Christmas, save the money and buy a PS3. You will get value from it as well because it has a Bluray player with it. You have to pay another $200.00 for that with the 360. If you don't believe this thing has quality control issues, go to Google and type in XBox 360 errors and watch how many matches you get. You will be blown away just as I was. Over 35% of XBox 360's have to be sent back to the company for repairs and that is just for the 3 red light error. There is another 15% of customers who get the error that I have and have to pay the $140.00 plus shipping to get it fixed. Do the math and you have a 50% failure rate on a $400.00 dollar piece of equipment. Not to mention all the accessories you buy with it. I don't care if you hate Sony and wouldn't be caught dead with their products, do not buy this thing. I promise it will break on you. If 50% are breaking now and it has only been out a year, imagine what will happen by 2,3, or 4 years.
