Rock solid

Pros: Sturdy, quick, great keyboard
Cons: CD drive can be a hassle

I have been using this original model MacBook since July last year and it is brilliant, very fast for anything not requiring video speed (I wouldn't recommend it for gaming if that's your bag) I've been mixing 48 channels of 24 bit audio on it and it's super stable. The casing is very strong, the keyboard is great, screen very high res and bright. The person posting above saying the hardware is stone-age is a dope and dissing Apple value for money. You just pay a bit more but you get the benefit of great software from the moment you boot it and Apple have just been voted the USA's best retailer, so the backup is better than any other manufacturer. However, CD drive can tend to hold onto CDs when new and dust-blocking foam is still stiff, check yours before you leave the shop.
