Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000
Review summary: Decent video, a bright image, and reasonable cost make the LifeCam a solid webcam, especially if you use Windows Live Messenger, for which it has a couple of special features.
Pros: Bright and clear video feed. Very easy install. Cool rubber grip. Good bundled software.
Cons: A few minor crashes. A few features work only with Windows Live Messenger. Audio quality only passable.
Verdict: This functional webcam makes video chats look bright and crisp, thanks to a new low-light sensor with an extra software program. Still, we had a few minor crashes.
