      Pros: Small footprint. Powered through the USB connection. Includes software for photos as well as business cards. Exchanges data with Microsoft Outlook and other contact-management programs.

      Cons: Photo-scan quality and business-card text recognition are less than ideal. No scratch removal or color-restore features for photos. No automatic document feeder.

      Verdict: The OptiCard 820 is best viewed as a convenience photo scanner and an improvement on typing in cards by hand, but don't expect much more from it. Both Photo-scan quality and text recognition for business cards are good enough to be useful, but far ...
