      Review summary: Rarely do I look at a standalone scanner, but should you need to scan other than documents then a specialised standalone scanner comes to the fore especially for negatives and slides.

      Verdict: I would suggest that you will need a reasonable large number or transparencies or negatives to make the purchase of this unit viable. However the output it produced was excellent and I now am able to print some images from the past that the original ...

      Review summary: As the latest innovation in photo printers is to move up from four colour cartridges to six, it was perhaps inevitable that the next technological advance for photo scanners was to reflect this change. So HP ...

      Verdict: For probably the best quality and authenticity of photo reproduction, the ScanJet G4010's 6-colour system is going to be hard to beat. It's a shame that it's let down by an unfriendly negative holder and overly complex operating software.
