      Review summary: A real heavyweight scanner, with a price tag to match. Is the 8200 worth it?

      Pros: Very good quality at high speed, High 4800 dpi maximum optical resolution

      Cons: Slight muting of very vivid colours, Very expensive

      Verdict: Expensive for what it is, in spite of the impressively high 4800dpi optical resolution.

      Hewlett-Packard Scanjet 8200

      Pros: Fast, high resolution

      Cons: Poor colour scans with default settings

      Verdict: The HP Scanjet 8200 can readily handle documents, photos and film, and is well suited to workgroups.
