      Pros: Fastest scanner we've tested for scanning and recognizing text pages. Driver supports both ISIS and Twain, to work with virtually any scan program. Flatbed option available.

      Cons: No software for document management or indexing included in package. Unclear installation instructions.

      Verdict: The Canon DR-2580C is the fastest document scanner we've tested for scanning and saving in searchable PDF format, but those who need software for document management or indexing to help organize scanned files must buy that separately.
