      Review summary: In November of last year that ended just two days ago, our corporate office decided to acquire two laser printers and as expected, I was assigned the job of finding the best ones for the best price.

      Review summary: While Samsung quotes monochrome and colour print speeds of 24ppm and 6ppm, we were still impressed with the 510's 21ppm and 5ppm results. Coupled with its silent operation, this is quite impressive.

      Verdict: With a built-in duplexer and a fast, yet silent print engine, the 510 is a great buy.

    • Pros: it is quick
    • Cons: Expensive, noisy and tempremental

    I have had this for 6 months and it is costing me an arm and a leg to run. The toner runs out extremely quickly-and cost more than the printer to replace - even at reduced prices all 3 colour and one black cartridge cost me nearly £400 each time-and they only last me for about 5 weeks. Also paper is always getting stuck -I would not recommend this to anyone Read Full Review »

    • Cons: Very expensive consumables, unreliable, useless customer care.

    We have 2 CLP 500s (identical to the 510, but last year's product number). Initially we were very impressed with the speed and print quality, but the consumables are very expensive - it was actually cheaper to buy a new printer than to replace the imaging unit and toner cartridges.     Recommending Samsung CLP 510

    • Pros: Duplex, fast, good value
    • Cons: Black text a little heavy

    This is partly in response to the negative review by Elaine Quarton. I bought one of these printers in April 2005 and have been very happy with it.

    I cannot speak for Australia, but in the UK toner refills for this printer are readily available, both online and e.g. at Staples. You get plenty of warning that is needs a new cartridge, and in the meantime it carries on printing with the old one (... Read Full Review »

    Printer fails to print if any cartridge is empty CLP-510N

    • Pros: duplex works well
    • Cons: toner not redily available

    This printer will stop working if the color carteridge is empty. You can not continue to print in black only. Replacement cartridges are hard to find, and cost more than the printer. If you find a remanufactured toner, it doesn't work. I paid 349 for the printer, and 460 for the toner, plus 2 weeks downtime searching for it. High price for 7000 max black copies.
