Eoson Stylus D92

By Ian Pickersgill (19/08/2007)
  • Pros: Basic, but cheap. Very good text and photographic printing
  • Cons: Very noisy in use.

I bought the Epson Stylus D92 for several reasons. Low Price £29.95, compact size, cheap replacement ink cartridges and it did all the basics that you expect from a printer very well. If you are looking for all the bells and whistles that are available on some printers today then forget the D92. It is very much a basic printer. If you want good quality printing of both text and photographs for the family then you may well be very surprised by what this simple printer can do. Epson have kept this printer basic and managed to retain good print quality. I use Windows XP and installation was a dream and virtually fool proof. The additional software that comes with the printer will do all the basics needed for photographic editing. Although, there is one big disadvantage with the D92 and I must emphasise it can be very annoying. It is noisy in operation. Why it has to be just so noisy I have no idea. It's fairly obvious that Epson have aimed this printer at the first time buyer, but I bought it as a replacement. Why buy a printer with a lot of functions on it that you don't want? If all you need is a basic printer that performs well and you can stand a bit of noise while it's printing. Then this is the printer for you.
