Review summary: Despite not having a Blu-ray drive, the Qosmio G50 still has some tricks which warrant a second look.
Pros: Adds unique gesture controls ; quad-core" architecture uses CPU and GPU to speed up video rendering tasks
Cons: An 18-inch system that both Blu-ray ; Second Cell CPU works only with bundled video-editing app ; gesture controls are wonky
Verdict: Toshiba's Qosmio G50 adds some dubiously useful gesture control gimmicks, but the real promise is in speedy video transcoding--as long as you use the right software.

Review summary: Toshiba's Qosmio range has often impressed us, but it's been a long time since the range was refreshed. The Qosmio G50-10H now brings a new design and outstanding power and features that set a new standard for mobile media centres.
Verdict: The large black and silver chassis looks great, but at 5kg is by far the heaviest in this group. The 229-minute battery laptop is stunning for such a large laptop, however. This massively outperforms all rivals and provides fantastic mobility

Toshiba Qosmio G50-10H notebook
Review summary: Can the quad-core powerhouse deliver?
Verdict: The Toshiba Qosmio G50-10H is a great machine and the asking price is fairly reasonable for the specification and features on offer. We enjoyed using it and would have made it a Hot Product but for one fact: no Blu-ray.
