      Toshiba NB100 (Intel Atom N270 processor 1.6GHz, 1GB RAM): Toshiba NB100 review

      By Craig Simms, CNET.com.au

Review summary: In the face of an identical hardware platform, Toshiba's netbook fails to bring a unique point of difference.

Pros: The same Netbook platform we've come to know and love

Cons: Horrific mouse buttons ; cramped keyboard ; out of date styling ; poor battery life

Verdict:  In the face of an identical hardware platform, Toshiba's Netbook fails to bring a unique point of difference.

      Toshiba NB100-11R review

      By Andrew Harrison

Review summary: Joining the throng of compact-and-affordable notebook PC makers is Toshiba, with its little Toshiba NB100-11R laptop.

Verdict: The Toshiba NB100-11R is a well-made and smart-looking example of how to make a powerful mini laptop €" not powerful in the sense of raw processing power but by covering most users needs, out of the box, with a trim and reliable interface.

      Toshiba NB100

Pros: 1kg, Sleep-and-Charge USB ports, screen tilts all the way back

Cons: Cramped keyboard is hard to type on, screen is susceptible to reflections, touchpad buttons are uncomfortable, Sleep-and-Charge is not enabled by default

Verdict: The NB100 is a little overpriced, but it is a solid little unit with Sleep-and-Charge USB ports, which are very convenient while travelling. It could use more RAM and a solid-state drive; a version with Linux installed would be pretty sweet, too.

      By WL News Team

Review summary: With the number of Netbooks increasing monthly, we're starting to see definite themes appear and the arrival of the Toshiba NB100-11R is no exception. This 8.9-inch model has the same compact feel we saw on the Dell Inspiron 9 (issue 118) and has a ...

Verdict: The look is very much that of a miniaturised laptop. The build quality is excellent and the device feels tough enough to drop into your carry case. Weighing 1.1kg, it certainly has portability on its side and with a battery life of 173 minutes, under ...

PC Pro: Product Reviews: Toshiba NB100-11R

      By Tim Danton

Verdict: A superb choice of operating system and great-looking 8.9in screen, but the price needs to drop for Toshiba's first netbook to make a big impression.
