      Samsung X360

Review summary: Korean giant Samsung claims the X360 is "lighter than air", and while not strictly true, at 1.29kg the 13.3incher is a featherweight in the laptop world. It's not got scrawny specs though: a 1,280x800 LED backlit screen, 128GB solid state drive or ...

Pros: Samsung is clearly gunning for the MacBook Air market with the X360, and in some ways it even outstrips it: three USB ports are certainly a bonus, and unlike Apple, Samsung has kindly provided an external DVD drive to slot into one of them. And for ...

Cons: Samsung may be aiming for the Air, but the X360 is as fat as any regular laptop at its thickest part so there's no sliding this into an envelope, although the trade off is a lengthy battery life. Despite all this, it doesn't feel too sturdy either, so ...

Verdict: The X360 punches far above its weight, offering more connectivity than you could ever need, and an SSD without an excessive pricetag. If you can cope with Windows Vista, this is a far more attractive option than a MacBook Air for the same price.

Samsung X360-34P - Review of the Samsung X360-34P

      By Michael A. Prospero

Review summary: This impressively thin, luxury ultraportable offers good battery life and performance along with a head-turning design.

Pros: Light, thin, and sexy design, Ample ports, Fast SSD, Good performance, Long battery life

Cons: Expensive, No integrated mobile broadband option, Slow boot time

Verdict: The touchpad, which supports multitouch gestures such as pinch-and-zoom, was decently sized, and had very low friction. The mouse buttons, too, were a good size, and required almost no effort to press. Like the keys, they, too, were very quiet.

      Samsung X360

      By Sasha Muller

Review summary: It's light and undeniably beautiful, but does its performance carry enough substance?

Verdict: Sony and Lenovo have been most successful, now Samsung has weighed in with the X360. Tipping the scales at 1.29kg, it undercuts the Lenovo X300 and MacBook Air, though not by much

      Samsung X360

      By Will Stapley

Review summary: Lighter than Apple's MacBook Air, with excellent battery life and a 128GB solid-state drive, Samsung's X360 is an attractive ultra-portable. Performance-wise, the X360 isn't suited to intensive applications, but its reasonable price makes it well ...

Pros: Lightweight design ; excellent battery life ; 128GB SSD

Cons: Uncomfortable keyboard ; slow processor ; poor graphics

Verdict: The X360's lethargic processor and graphics won't appeal to all and we're not huge fans of the keyboard, but the laptop benefits from excellent battery life, a 128GB SSD and a truly lightweight design. If you don't throw too much at it, Samsung's ...

      Samsung X360 review

      By Darren Gladstone

Review summary: The Samsung X360 is an interesting and good-looking ultraportable laptop.

Verdict: Samsung's X360 certainly doesn't come cheap. But with the 128GB SSD drive on board, you wouldn't expect it to be a huge bargain. Overall it's a solid machine for indoor and outdoor use.
