      MSI Wind U100 Review

      By Nick Mokey

Review summary: The Wind does away with the worst aspects of early subnotebooks, without ruining the attractive price point in the process.

Pros: Bright and spacious 10-inch screen; lightweight and portable; powerful

Cons: Three-cell battery may be inadequate; build quality could be a tad better

      MSI Wind U100

      By Elias Plastiras

Review summary: WITH a 10" screen and great keyboard, this is close to being the perfect ultraportable laptop.

Pros: Comfortable to use, 10" screen, 80GB hard drive, long battery life, competitive price

Cons: Chassis has poor balance for lap use, no expansion slot

Verdict: For its sub-$700 asking price, you can't go wrong with the MSI Wind. It was responsive in our tests, and has plenty of storage and a large screen. Most importantly, its battery lasts a long time. This ultraportable is also quite comfortable to use.

      By Matthew Elliott

Pros: Strikes optimal Netbook balance between portability and usability ; polished look ; fair price

Cons: Wimpy three-cell battery is only option at the moment ; no 802.11n Wi-Fi or WWAN ; no option for solid-state hard drive

Verdict: The MSI Wind U100 makes a positive first impression with its polished design and roomy (for a Netbook) display and keyboard, but it's missing a handful of features--bigger battery, solid-state hard drive, and WWAN--that would turn it from a very good ...

      MSI Wind U100

Review summary: MSI's long awaited Eee PC-killer is here. Is it a silent assassin or a hopeless hitman?

Pros: Smaller than Eee 1000. Big hard drive. Well priced

Cons: Poor battery life. No Bluetooth on Linux version. Small trackpad
