      Review summary: The Lenovo ThinkPad X41 has a fingerprint reader installed for added security

      Pros: Battery life acceptable, Fingerprint reader, Security, Highly portable

      Cons: No built-in optical drive

      Verdict: A fingerprint reader can be found on the panel, pushing security to the fore. Backed by a TMCP chip, data will be safe even from the most ardent of hackers. You won't find a built-in optical drive, this being moved to the supplied docking station, ...

      Review summary: There's also a hard drive shock protection system, similar in function to that supplied with the Toshiba Portege R200, but thankfully, Lenovo's system isn't quite as enthusiastic when it comes to detecting shocks and 'parking' the hard drive's heads!

      Verdict: If you can look past its rather average battery life, the Thinkpad X41 is a very solid product that we're sure can go the distance and then a little further.
