      Pros: Next-generation Centrino. Terrific typing experience. Fingerprint reader. Top-of-the-line management utilities. Trusted Platform Module.

      Cons: Only two USB ports. No memory card slots.

      Verdict: The added horsepower garnered from the next-generation Centrino component and the robust security suite make the IBM ThinkPad T43 the perfect business tool for any professional.

      Review summary: The IBM ThinkPad T43 delivers similar performance to but lesser battery life than the identically designed ThinkPad T42; we think the latter remains the better buy.

      Pros: Sturdy, well-designed case ; strong security features ; swappable internal bay ; standard three-year warranty

      Cons: Pricier than other comparable systems ; only two USB 2.0 ports

      Verdict: The IBM ThinkPad T43 delivers similar performance but lesser battery life than the identically designed ThinkPad T42; we think the latter remains the better buy.
