      Pros: Jumbo battery means long life. Comfortable keyboard with numeric keypad. HDMI and eSATA ports. Remote control

      Cons: Jumbo battery makes system a little ponderous. Mediocre screen resolution. Sluggish integrated graphics

      Verdict: Luxuries like Blu-ray and discrete graphics are absent, but more than seven and a half hours' battery life makes this system stand out from the 15.6-inch crowd.

      Cons: Poor battery life undercuts the more-mobile-than-a-17-incher argument. No Bluetooth. More than its share of crapware

      Verdict: The HP Pavilion dv6-1253cl, an aggressively discounted laptop, makes a compelling case for 16 inches as the mobile media center screen-size sweet spot.
