      By Emil Larsen

Review summary: The screen doesn't click into position, but the 2710p has all the best tablet ingredients otherwise

      HP Compaq 2710p

      By Cisco Cheng

Review summary: The HP Compaq 2710p's battery rivals the Energizer bunny for lasting-power, but you'll have to put up with a dim screen and low-powered components.

Pros: All-day battery life. Trendy design. Webcam with mainstream digital camera features.

Cons: Washed-out screen. ULV processor combined with the 4,200-rpm hard drive is a bottleneck for Vista. Pricey extended battery and dock. Pricey system.

Verdict: The HP Compaq 2710p offers the best one-two punch with its standard and extended batteries, but certain sacrifices have to be made, like screen brightness and performance processors.

      By Carla Thornton

Review summary: The HP Compaq 2710p is a highly configurable convertible notebook with some ultracool features. It doesn't have a very fast processor or an integrated optical drive, but its battery life is fabulous and its screen is responsive.

Pros: Indoor/outdoor screen ; Good docking and battery options

      Cons: Unorthodox button placement

Verdict: The 2710p is not for people who need a powerful portable, but it's inexpensive considering that its $2328 price includes the notebook, the docking station, and the extra battery
