      Dell Inspiron 8600

      Pros: Top-notch specification excellent performance ? especially 3D acceleration wide-screen 15.4in. display dual-band wireless antennae.

      Cons: Relatively hefty, with a large footprint.

      Verdict: Building on the success of its 8500 predecessor, the Inspiron 8600 combines state-of-the-art components with a proven design to deliver an excellent multimedia-orientated desktop replacement notebook.

      Dell Latitude X300

      Review summary: The ultraportable Latitude X300 exudes business appeal, with its speed, elegance and good support. However, it definitely needs a second battery and cheaper memory.

      Pros: Affordable, Reasonable performance.

      Cons: No wireless connectivity, Relatively bulky and heavy, No CD-writer.

      Verdict: Given its sub-£500 (ex. VAT) price, the Satellite Pro A10 is pretty impressive. Choose it if you need a budget notebook for everyday tasks -- but be aware of its limitations... Read Full Review.
