      Dell Inspiron Mini 12

      By Cisco Cheng

Review summary: If there was any question that the gap between ultraportables and netbooks is ever-shrinking, Dell's newest model answers in the affirmative. Though it's definitely a netbook (determined by its undersize keyboard and Intel Atom platform), the Dell ...

Pros: Big 12-inch screen. Good resolution. Very thin. As light as its 10-inch netbook peers. Ubuntu is a top-notch Linux operating system. Intel Atom platform is solid. Multiple battery options

Cons: Slow, 4,200-rpm hard drive. Pricey relative to other netbooks

Verdict: Sure, the Dell Inspiron Mini 12 is expensive relative to other netbooks, but it's the only one with a 12-inch screen.

      Dell Inspiron Mini 12 Review

      By Mark Wilson

Review summary: The Dell Inspiron Mini 12 is a bit confused. It packs an Intel Atom processor, which makes it a netbook. But it also has a 12-inch screen, which exceeds our definition of what a netbook can be. On one hand it's a natural evolution of the genre in an ...

Verdict: The build of the Mini 12 is excellent. Even with the extended battery, it feels light and easy to toss around. But it's more than the weight that makes it so comfortable to carry. Its bottom has a sandpapery texture, which grips a hand with confidence

Dell Inspiron Mini 12 Netbook Big on Price Too

      By Michael Kwan

Review summary: The Dell Inspiron Mini 12 seems to be a good option for people who want the smaller form factor of a netbook but want a slightly bigger screen. Unfortunately, it also comes with a slightly bigger price tag...

Verdict: You may remember late last month when I told you about the Dell Inspiron Mini 12. By most accounts, it is the largest netbook to date, boasting a large 12-inch display. Keeping in mind that most (all?) other netbooks max out at the 10-inch range, the ...

Dell Inspiron Mini 12 - Review of the Dell Inspiron Mini 12

      By Joanna Stern

Review summary: The first 12-inch mini-notebook packs a spacious screen and keyboard in a very slim design, and it offers very good battery life, but the Mini 12's performance could be better.

Pros: >Glossy 12.1-inch screen, Slim design, Excellent battery life with six-cell battery

      Cons: >Sluggish performance under Vista, Slow hard drive, Quiet speakers, OS: Windows Vista Basic SP1, CPU: 1.6-GHz Intel Atom Z530, RAM/Expandable to: 1GB/1GB, Hard Drive Size/Speed: 60GB/4,200 rpm, Display/Resolution: 12 inches/1280 x 800 (native), , , , ...

Verdict: Above the display is a 1.3-megapixel webcam, which worked nicely in Dell's Video Chat powered by Sightspeed; our caller saw us clearly but complained of a slight green hue to the picture
