Review Asus F70SL Notebook
By Sylwester Cyba
Review summary: Multimedia in 17.3 inches. The 17.3 inch Asus F70SL tries to appeal to the broad mass of final consumers in a metaphorical fancy dress. Apart from this, it aligns itself in the starter multimedia range with an Nvidia Geforce 9300M GS and tries to ...
Pros: Stable case , Comfortable keyboard , Low noise emissions, Stable case, Comfortable keyboard, Low noise emissions
Cons: Heavy , Test device's display was defective, Heavy, Test device's display was defective
Verdict: Also worth mentioning is that equally high temperatures are reached to a part in idle mode as with load. It would have been desirable to have lower temperatures in such a large device with a starter multimedia card

Asus - F70SL
Review summary: Laptops continue to outsell desktop PCs and the continuing evolution of ‘desktop replacement' laptops is one of the reasons. The Asus F70 series (we're reviewing the F70SL-TY076C here) certainly has the screen to do it, claiming ...
Verdict: The F70SL is a good-looking, reasonably well-equipped, desktop-replacement laptop with a big screen. It isn't ‘Full HD' as Asus claims, but it's still good for most 2D uses. There is another version of the F70SL, the TY129C, which is currently around ...

Review summary: The big picture is let down by lacklustre graphics but, for the price, it's still a good value option as a desktop replacement.
Verdict: If you can up your budget, the F70SL-TY129C version can be picked up for £860 and comes with a P8600 running at 2.4GHz. However, it's still saddled with the GeForce 9300M GS graphics chip. Our review model, the F70SL-TY076C has the slower T5850 CPU ...

Asus F70
By Rory Reid
Review summary: An unusual 17.3-inch screen is intended to make the Asus F70 laptop stand out from the crowd, with a 16:9 aspect ratio that is perfect for watching movies without seeing black bars at the top and bottom of the picture.
Pros: Good looks ; Good connectivity and networking
Cons: Uninspiring specification
Verdict: The F70 is a good-looking laptop, but its most interesting feature is a screen that's 0.3 inches wider than normal. In other words, it's pretty boring. It's not a bad machine, but it's pretty uninspiring by Asus' own high standards.
