      Acer Aspire 8920G-934G64Bn laptop review

      By Michael Browne

Review summary:   The Aspire 8920G-934G64Bn is a high-end media centre, and provides impressive performance and features at a reasonable price. The 4.1kg chassis is aimed at desktop use, but despite its size, it offers a surprisingly strong 176-minute battery life.

Verdict: The large chassis allows for an equally spacious keyboard with a full numeric keypad. All the keys are well fixed with a smooth and comfortable typing action

      Acer Aspire 8920G

Review summary: The Aspire 8920G is the latest notebook PC from Acer. Its innovative feature includes a 46.74-centimetre high-definition CineCrystal LCD panel that boasts of an amazing resolution of 1920x1080 pixels; built-in multi-speakers that deliver True 5.1 ...

Pros: Blu-ray is king and we all want a bit of it. If you want it on-the-go, then this is the first laptop to come with a jumbo 18.4-inch screen. This means you can watch Blu-ray movies in their native 16:9 aspect ratio, cinema style. Acer has stuffed it's ...

Cons: Acer has to be commended for adding extra features to make this laptop look impressive, but it doesn't always work. The keyboard is big but it's not that comfortable to type on. Worse are the built-in media controls, dubbed the CineDash. The buttons ...

Verdict: It makes a big and bold statement and if you're after a home cinema you can carry around with you, it oozes wow factor. We're just not convinced you'll still think the same way about it in six months, two hernias and one bad back's time.

      Acer Aspire 8920

      By Kailas Shastry

Review summary: Powerful and feature rich desktop replacement notebook

Verdict: For an asking price of Rs. 63,000, the Acer Aspire 8920 is splendid value for money, in spite of some shortcomings that we have mentioned above. We wish Acer had ironed these out, even if that meant a higher price tag. For Rs.70,000 this still would ...

      Acer Aspire 8920 review

      By Will Head

Review summary: The Acer Aspire 8920 was born to entertain. From its huge 18.4in display and Blu-ray drive to its extremely powerful processor and graphics card you can be guaranteed there won't be a dull moment with this laptop around.

Verdict: This is a big, powerful machine and although it's expensive it's not exorbitant, coming in at £1,339. It makes a decent entertainment machine and desktop replacement, but while its battery life is reasonable, you really wouldn't want to transport it ...

      Acer Aspire 8920G 18.4in Blu-ray Notebook

      By Andy Vandervell

Review summary: Is this the ideal Blu-ray notebook? With a Full HD, 16:9 ratio screen and Dolby Home Theatre audio it certainly sounds promising.

Verdict: Its clunky design and poor keyboard are disappointing, but the Acer Aspire 8920G delivers excellent performance and a very good film watching experience at a reasonable price. If this sounds like a good idea to you then its worth investigating further.
