      Nintendo DS

      By Staff writers

Review summary: Up against it when compared to the PSP and not the worthy substitute it should have been. Once more people crack the dual screen, though, it might be worth a second look

Verdict: To make decent use of the touch screen for map/minigame duties, we'd recommend Super Mario 64 DS - undoubtedly the top title for DS - as an accomplished port of the exasperatingly addictive N64 classic

Review: Nintendo DS Browser powered by Opera 8.5

      By Matt Miller

Review summary: I use a Sony PSP for portable game playing and movie viewing, but I rarely use it to surf the Web due to the lame text entry process. I always thought the Nintendo DS would be a better solution since the lower screen is a touch-screen; Nintendo and ...

      GAMING GROUP TEST: Nintendo DS

      By T3 Online

Review summary: When the big N releases a new handheld, you sit up and take notice, and when it drops the Game Boy moniker, you expect something special.

Verdict: This is probably the closest thing here to a dedicated games console, which could explain the low price and lengthy battery life. Shame it's competing with the PSP...

    DS 1 Review

Nintendo DS Blue By Elizabeth Sutch (09/09/2006)
    • Pros: Comparitively cheap; games are fun, and friendly, connectivity great
    • Cons: The blue isn't this bright! Screen isn't bright compared with DS Lite.

My boyfriend bought a nintendo DS in blue when it first came out - he's played it quite a bit but we've often fought over who wanted to play it more! He actually got a DS Lite so that we could stop fighting over who plays, and now we only fight over games. The games are friendly and generally innoffensive, but nevertheless just as much fun and more than other handhelds. I own a PSP which I... Read Full Review »
