      Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite

Review summary: Preview: With the pesky PS3 hogging the limelight, Microsoft has powered up the Xbox 360, sprayed it black and given it a cool new name. Meet the Elite

      Xbox 360 Elite

      By Ben Kuchera

Review summary: The Xbox 360 Elite has arrived. Microsoft has slapped a fresh coat of paint on the 360, increased its storage capacity, and added an HDMI hookup. Is it enough to warrant an upgrade?

Pros: HDMI makes 1080p possible without a VGA connection, Great suite of cables and connection options, Black is the new... black, Large storage is a refreshing change from the claustrophobic 20GB drive, Upscaling DVDs via HDMI is a nice touch

Cons: Black is also the old black, HDMI uses old 1.2 spec, not 1.3, No transfer cable unless you buy the standalone drive

      Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite

By John P. Falcone and Nick Hide

Review summary: Microsoft has come up with an upgrade to its Xbox 360, less than 18 months after its initial launch. The Xbox 360 Elite is black instead of white, includes a 120GB hard drive and sports an HDMI output for easier and better quality connection to HD ...

Pros: Excellent selection of games ; HDMI port ; large hard drive

Cons: Noisy DVD drive and cooling fan ; gigantic power supply ; no built-in wireless networking ; no built in HD DVD drive

Verdict: While it's neither a must-have upgrade for existing 360 owners nor as feature-packed as the PS3, the Xbox 360 Elite's combination of top-notch gaming and digital media features make it the current game console of choice

      Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite

      By Melissa J Perenson

Review summary: Here's our first review of Microsoft's Xbox 360 Elite. This version of the sleek games console offers more than just cosmetic improvements.

Verdict: If you haven't jumped on the Xbox bandwagon just yet, but had planned to (Halo 3, anyone?), the Xbox 360 Elite merits your consideration. The inclusion of the 120GB hard drive, HDMI, and full 1080p support may make this console pricey, but it's also a ...
