      Dual

      By Joel Santo Domingo

Review summary: Lenovo continues to branch out from its ThinkCentre model line with the basic 3000 series of desktops. Last year's J105 system has been replaced with the Lenovo 3000 J115 ($678 direct, $917 with 19-inch widescreen LCD monitor). The J115 represents a ...

Pros: Sub-$1,000 price with widescreen monitor. Lenovo Care tools (aka ThinkVantage utilities). Lots of included software. Decent expansion space. Dual-core AMD X2 processor. Windows Vista Premium-ready.

Cons: Some software is trialware and bloatware. No DVD burner. Only 90-day Norton Internet Security subscription. Could use a multimedia card reader.

Verdict: Looking for a little more than a basic PC, but want to keep it under $1,000 complete? Take a look at the Lenovo 3000 J115, a basic business PC that's grown up.

Review summary: Lenovo does the IBM name proud with this budget small office orientated machine.

      By Alan Stevens

Review summary: Lenovo's 3000-series desktops are the first PCs it can truly call its own. These small-business systems offer an affordable, flexible set of configurations with an attractive design and added business features.

Pros: Fast AMD processor, Low heat output, Silent, Good video support, Altiris management software, Optional quick-release mounting bracket

Cons: Bulky for a thin client, Little documentation included

Verdict: The AMD-based t5720 is a welcome addition to HP Compaq's family of thin clients, but documentation needs to be improved... Read Full Review.

      Lenovo 3000 J100 8253 (Pentium 4 640 3.2GHz, 512MB RAM, 80GB HDD, XP Pro)

Review summary: That's not to say that these are totally stripped-down configurations. Some come with DVD/CD-RW drives, and Lenovo expects to expand the range to include 1GB of memory and double-layer DVD burners soon. Certain businesses may also appreciate the ...

      Lenovo 3000 J100

Review summary: Lenovo's new 3000 small-business desktops mix low prices, a variety of different configurations and sleek styling. Featuring low-end Intel- and AMD-based configs, Lenovo isn't billing its new 3000-series PCs as Photoshop-blasting, 3D-modeling dynamos.
