Pros: Fastest desktop in its price range ; large hard drive ; decent amount of upgrade room ;
Cons: Limited variety of external ports ; slower PCs with similar specifications available for less ;

Dell Inspiron 530/2583 review

Review summary: It's difficult to position Dell's Inspiron 530/2583 within our chart. It may have come in fifth place, but it hasn't really been running the same race.
Verdict: The Dell Inspiron 530/2583 might be considerably slower than the other systems here, but it costs a whopping £70 less, is perfect for novice users - and there is some room for upgrades later on.

Review summary: The Dell Inspiron 530 may outperform its budget competition, but the overall package leaves something to be desired.
Pros: Good performance. Decent expansion options. Bloatware-free configuration.
Cons: Lacks Media Center functionality. Smallish hard drive. Only 30 days of McAfee virus protection.
Verdict: While the Dell Inspiron 530 is a capable system for tackling home tasks (as well as some multimedia apps), there are better value systems that offer more.
