Dell XPS 210
By Joel Santo Domingo
Review summary: With the XPS 210, Dell packs more power into the same compact form factor as its predecessor's, that of the XPS 200. The XPS 210's mobile Intel Core 2 Duo processor, larger drive space, and better graphics card make it quite attractive for anyone who ...
Pros: Small. Quiet. XPS priority support line. Included 15-month Internet security subscription. Upgradable. Large hard drive. Core 2 Duo-equipped.
Cons: Ugly IR remote receiver. Not quite as tiny as other mini PC desktops. Significantly more expensive than its predecessor.
Verdict: Dell upgrades its "entry-level" XPS desktop with a powerful Core 2 Duo processor. It's more of an attractive Media Center PC now, but at a price.

Pros: New Core 2 Duo CPU bolsters performance ; Dell's DellConnect support leaves the troubleshooting to the professionals
Cons: Innovations in design since the case's debut 14 months ago make the XPS 210 feel clunky ; lazy absence of internal Wi-Fi
Verdict: With so many systems on the market that have planted their home-theater flags deeply in the living room rug, Dell's noncommittal XPS 210 feels too much like it's trying to please everyone. The addition of Intel's Core 2 Duo chips helps overall ...
