      Review summary: Tiger's not the only story; the iMac G5 gets a complete hardware overhaul, too.

      Pros: DVD drive now supports double-layer discs, Base configuration supports 30in. Apple Cinema HD monitor, Includes Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and the latest iLife suite, Has higher maximum storage capacity than previous model

      Cons: Only one optical drive bay, No memory card reader and not enough USB ports, Includes only a 30-day trial of iWork, Telephone support lasts a brief 90 days

      Verdict: Apple's latest high-end Power Mac G5 is a blazing machine that stands up without blinking to the best of the competition, but we're still annoyed by some of its shortcomings.

      Review summary: Okay, so the iMac G5 does look pretty gorgeous and everything it has to offer is very smartly packaged, but I still looked at it askance, because of the clearly low hardware specs. How does it really sum up?

      Verdict: Ultra AGP 8X display card with 64 MB of DDR RAM and a SuperDrive, but... where was it all? Everything is housed behind the LCD display, that's about 18.6 inches (47.2 cm) high and 19.4 inches (49.3 cm) wide
