      Apple's 24" iMac: There's more to High End than Performance | silentpcreview.com

      By Devon Cooke

Review summary: Last April, Apple got our attention with a Core Duo 17" iMac that was the quietest, most efficient stock system we've seen from a major brand. The iMacs now sport Intel's Core

Verdict: All in all, the iMac is a high end product that the masses will understand. It's luxurious status comes from its image and integration, not performance. Thankfully, low noise is part of that image, and we like it for that all the more

Core 2 Duo iMacs unofficially rock 802.11n capabilities

      By Darren Murph

Review summary: We know, it's still draft-spec equipment, but the fact that Apple has knowingly strapped an 802.11n-compliant wireless card inside its newest refresh of iMacs could certainly be telling of a certain product's future (or not). While a few enterprising ...

      Award: Editor's Choice!

Review summary: If you've been waiting to upgrade a G4- or G5-powered iMac, or even if you're looking to replace a G4 or single-processor G5 Power Mac, the new 24-inch Apple iMac ($2,749 direct) should be at the top of your list. Powered by Intel's zippy Core 2 Duo ...

Pros: Larger, brighter screen. Faster, more powerful Core 2 Duo processor. More capable graphics. Large 500GB hard drive

Cons: Takes up a bit more desk space than the 20-incher. A bit pricey compared with systems that come without a monitor. No media card slots. No TV tuner

Verdict: Apple's iMac grows up, and he's a big 'un. The 24-inch iMac is a great system for professionals and media junkies alike.
