      Apple iMac (24in 2009)

      By Ross Catanzariti

Pros: Design remains superb, good performance, Apple attention to detail, all-in-one casing saves space

Cons: Exorbitant price, no included Apple remote, keyboard has no number pad, rear casing gets hot, only RAM can be upgraded, no adapters included for DVI or VGA connections

Verdict: The upgrades to the latest Apple iMac are largely underwhelming, but the computer retains its excellently crafted design. It's still an outstanding machine, but the smaller keyboard, lack of included remote and the fact that no display adapters are ...

      Apple iMac (24-inch, 2009 edition)

      By Rich Brown

Review summary: Little has changed cosmetically with the updated 24-inch iMac all-in-one, but the internal hardware has had a fairly extensive overhaul, ensuring that it's an outstanding multitasker and capable gaming system. Those who want a straightforward desktop ...

Pros: Affordable ; twice as much hard-drive space as older models ; fast Nvidia graphics chip makes for a capable gaming system ; best-in-class multitasking performance ; Apple iLife '09 digital media suite comes as standard

Cons: Few interesting hardware features compared with recent Windows-based all-in-ones

Verdict: Apple has made a number of changes to its 24-inch iMac, most notably on the inside, although the display has had a few tweaks too. The updates are welcome, and its multitasking capability remains unmatched. Provided you prefer your all-in-ones as ...

      iMac 2.8GHz

      By Kenny Hemphill

Review summary: This revamp of Apple's slimline all-in-one Mac keeps the same aluminium and glass exterior that was first unveiled last summer, but beneath the surface lies a major performance improvement. In our tests, this 2.8GHz model beat the previous 2.4GHz iMac ...

Verdict: Beauty becomes a beast. An excellent Mac whose performance is a match for its looks.

      2.8GHz iMac

      By Heath McKnight

Review summary: After 10 years, Apple's flagship computer, the iMac, is still going strong. With the introduction of a thinner display/computer, a fast Intel Core 2 Duo last year, Apple proved the iMac will remain one of the best desktop computers for everyone. This ...

Verdict: So is the print quality acceptable? To the average consumer, me included, the prints output by the ESP 5 are indistinguishable from a four or even a six color printer that employs separate ink cartridges. Sure the experts with their loupes who will ...

      Apple iMac 24in 2.8GHz review

      By Andrew Harrison

Review summary: Apple has updated its iMac line, keeping the metal-framed design from last year but upgrading internals such as processors and hard drives.

Verdict: Apple shows that the melding of hardware and software makes for a very compelling computer. Sleek and cool-running, the latest Apple iMac is arguably the best one-stop PC you'll find, at home running Windows or its native Mac OS X.
