      Pros: 16:9 ratio, good image quality, stylish design, excellent colour and contrast, non-glossy screen, no ghosting

      Cons: No HDMI, unsteady stand

      Verdict: The Samsung SyncMaster 2033SW is a 16:9 LCD monitor with a high resolution for its screen size. It is well designed for watching widescreen HD movie content, but it doesn't have the connection options to make it a great all-rounder.

      Review summary: The forward march of technology leaves in it's wake all categories of electronics. The latest category to be affected is display technology. Today we're looking at a new what Samsung is doing with LEDs in it's new LCD panels.

      Pros: Bright display with good black levels, Excellent colour reproduction with 114% NTCS colour gamut, Supports AdobeRGB, and is fully customizable, All the other bells and whistles you expect from a high end LCD, including a very adjustable stand

      Cons: The big ticket price, which isn't reduced much on the streets, Calibrator doesn't seem necessary, could be upgraded, Size ; the unit is 9cm (3.54 inches) thick and weighs 7.6 kg (16.75 lbs)

      Pros: Excellent colour reproduction, ships with a hood, versatile stand, USB hub

      Cons: Supplied colour calibration tool doesn't have Vista drivers yet
