      NEC EA261WM

      By John R. Delaney

Review summary: The largest of NEC's EA series of enterprise-class displays, the EA261WM ($599 direct), targets business users who require the screen real estate needed to view side-by-side documents and multiple application windows without having to run a multi ...

Pros: Excellent small-text reproduction. Highly adjustable stand. Includes USB hub

Cons: Expensive. Weak grayscale and vertical viewing angle performance. No HDMI port

Verdict: The NEC EA261WM provides an ultrawide viewing area, some nice ergonomic and power-saving features, and great small-text reproduction, but it comes up short in terms of grayscale and viewing-angle performance, and doesn't come cheap.

      NEC EA261WM

      By Tom Edwards

Review summary: Our initial impression of NEC's widescreen 26-inch EA261WM LCD monitor was overwhelmingly positive, primarily due to the thought put into its ergonomics. What puzzles us most about monitor design is why-even with obscenely expensive panels-user ...

      By Kalpana Ettenson

Review summary: The NEC MultiSync P221w is an attractive, well-designed 22in widescreen monitor that offers impeccable image quality.

Verdict: Still, unless, perhaps, you're a graphics specialist, the £450 seems a high price to pay for the NEC MultiSync P221w, even for rock-solid image quality and high-level controls. These days you can find a decent 22in widescreen for half that price and ...

      P221W 22-inch Widescreen Monitor

      By Kalpana Ettenson

Review summary: This attractive, well-designed 22-inch widescreen monitor offers impeccable image quality. But at $499, it's extremely pricey, particularly when you consider that other 22-inch displays can be found for $350 or less.

      Pros: Excellent image quality

Cons: Pricey in comparison to other displays

Verdict: Still, unless, perhaps, you're a graphics specialist, $499 seems a high price to pay, even for rock-solid image quality and high-level controls. As mentioned, you can find a decent 22-inch widescreen now for $350 or less, and during these uncertain ...
